DeWitt ""Bub"" York Jr, 81, of Spring Bay passed away on Sunday November 17, 2013 at Snyder Village. He was born on July 26, 1932 in El Paso, IL the son of DeWitt C. and Emma Wilhelmina Decker Sr. He married Donna J. Loveless on December 15, 1951 in Spring Bay. She passed away on March 16, 2011. He was also preceded in death by two brothers Earl and Dean, and three sisters Phyllis Fisher, Wanda Green and Nadine Gunzenheiser. Surviving is one son Dennis York of Peoria, three daughters Laurie (Terry) Boblit, Becky (Tom) Davis and Shelly (Steve) Buttrum, all of Spring Bay; grandchildren, Casey Boblit, Jimmy (Michelle) Wedell, Rachel (Tim) Wilkins, Nikki Buttrum, Jessica and Cory Davis; and 11 great-grandchildren. DeWitt was an honorably discharged U.S. Army Veteran. He worked in the forestry division of Cilco for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottisch Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria, Mohammed Shrine Temple where he was a Funmaker, A past member of the Spring Bay Fire Department, American Legion Post 1115 in Spring Bay, Blue Lake Sportsman?s Club in Canton. He loved to camp and fish with his wife and their friends, enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and offered a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren on Sunday?s at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2013, at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and also one hour before services. Burial will be in Spring Bay Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Snyder Village resident in need fund.
