Dennis Ray Sprague

Dennis Ray Sprague, 75, of Eureka, IL, passed away at 9:06 am on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Carle Health-Methodist Church in Peoria, IL.

He was born on November 5, 1950, in Peoria, IL, to Virgil and Virginia Louise (Secrest) Sprague.

Surviving are his wife, Donna of Eureka; children, Dusti Sprague-Rose of Lancaster, OH, David (Heather) Sprague of West Monroe, LA, and Diane (Jared) Milloy of Eureka; grandchildren, Aidan, Alex, Zoey, Madison, Brooklynn and Christopher; and sisters, Phyllis Turner, Jenne Orrison, and Nancy (Russ) Huff all of Broken Arrow, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Diane Perry, and brothers Gary Sprague and Jerry Sprague.

Dennis was a member of a college and careers club where met his wife Donna. They were married in Germantown Hills, on June 16, 1973. Together they raised 3 children, and fostered over 70 children.

Dennis worked as a computer programmer for 30 plus years at Illinois Power and then Caterpillar. In his spare time he loved wood working, hiking, reading a good book and spending time with his grandkids.

Dennis was a quiet man who loved his family and friends dearly. He was very proud of his kids and grandkids. He would help anyone without hesitation.

Dennis was strong in his faith and loved God deeply. He was a proud member of Liberty Bible Church in Eureka, IL.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation and Celebration of Life Service will be held at Liberty Bible Church with Pastor Tom Zobrist officiating on July 11, 2026.
