Dennis Ray Sprague

Dennis Ray Sprague, 75, of Eureka, IL, passed away at 9:06 am on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Carle Health-Methodist Church in Peoria, IL.

He was born on November 5, 1950, in Peoria, IL, to Virgil and Virginia Louise (Secrest) Sprague. He married Donna Eileen Bitner on June 16, 1973, in Germantown Hills, IL.

Surviving are his wife, Donna of Eureka; children, Dusti Sprague-Rose of Lancaster, OH, David (Heather) Sprague of West Monroe, LA, and Diane (Jared) Milloy of Eureka; grandchildren, Aidan, Alex, Zoey, Madison, Brooklynn and Christopher; and sisters, Phyllis Turner and Jenne Orrison both of Tulsa, OK, and Nancy (Russ) Huff of Broken Arrow, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Diane Perry, and brothers Gary Sprague and Jerry Sprague.

Dennis worked for 30+ years in information technology at Illinois Power and then later at Caterpillar Tractor Company. He was a member of Liberty Bible Church in Eureka, IL. He enjoyed hiking, walking, fishing, reading a good book, and spending time with his grandkids. He and Donna fostered over 70 children!

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Liberty Bible Church with Pastor Tom Zobrist officiating at a later date. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
