Dennis E. Johnson

Dennis E. Johnson, 67, of Peoria, IL, formerly of Metamora, IL passed away at 9:30 am on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at his residence. He was born on January 30, 1950 in Macomb, IL to Earl P. and Cora C. (Chic) Johnson. He married Melba J. Steelman on November 28, 1968 in Bayview Gardens, IL. She survives. Also surviving are his children Daniel Johnson of Villa Park, IL, William (Kim) Johnson of Peoria, and Laura (Troy) Vanderburg of Chattanooga, TN, and eleven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and twenty siblings. He was a machinist and then a self-employed contractor. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 11:00 am at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel in Metamora with Reverend Dave Jane officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hickory Point Cemetery in Metamora.
