Dennis G. Damery

Dennis G. "Denny" Damery age 71 of Metamora, Illinois passed away at 8:10pm Saturday April 27, 2013 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born Feb. 4, 1942 in Decatur, Illinois to William R. and Florence M. (Weybright) Damery. He married Marilyn G. Harris on Aug. 21, 1965 in Peoria, IL., and she survives. Surviving are two sons, Douglas (Karen) Damery of Washington, IL., and Timothy (Mary Michael) Damery of Metamora. Grandchildren, Austin, Olivia, Drew, and Lydia Damery. Also surviving are his siblings, Phillip (Linda) Damery of Forsyth, IL., Billie Damery of Pekin, IL., April Patient of Hammond, IL., and Randy (Debbie) Damery of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Denny worked in North America Sales for Komatsu in Peoria for many years. He was number 225 of Peoria Cursillo and also a former Rector. He had been involved with the Jaycee?s for many years and on Sept. 18, 2012 had been a Lung Transplant Recipient. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Peoria where a funeral mass will be at 10:00am Thursday May 2, 2013 with Father John Grigus and Deacon John Skender officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5pm until 7pm at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel and also one hour prior to mass at church. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7pm and will conclude with a time of reflection on Denny?s life. Graveside services will be at 11:00am Friday May 3, 2013 at Bethel Cemetery in Blue Mound, Illinois. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Peoria Cursillo and his Church.
