Dennis Scott Bohart

Dennis S. Bohart, 68, of Peoria, passed away on March 1, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, surrounded by his family.

A Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Peoria. A Memorial Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at the church. An additional visitation will be one hour prior to the Memorial Mass.

Dennis was born on February 2, 1954, in Peoria, a son of Gerald "Jerry" and Phyllis (Grimm) Bohart. They preceded him in death, as well as his nephew, Sam Merrill.

He is survived by his best friend and companion, Jerry Wyeth of Peoria; siblings, Fred Bohart of Chenoa, Cindy (Mike) Scime of Dunlap, Susie (the late Scott) Merrill of Peoria Heights and Joseph (Holly) Bohart of Ellicott City, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dennis was a 3rd generation auctioneer in the family business, Bohart Auction Sales, for 50 years. He enjoyed buying and selling antiques, but most of all being with his family. He was an ever-present brother, uncle and friend to all. He was also part of the founding families of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be made in Dennis's memory to Sophia's Kitchen in Peoria.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mason White Funeral Home in Washington.
