Dena A. "Tootie" Pedrick

Dena Alvena "Tootie" Pedrick, 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Washington, IL. She was born on May 4, 1922 in LowPoint, IL to August R. and Anna (Demange) Schlimmer. She married Robert L. Pedrick on April 22, 1947 in Metamora. He passed away on September 19, 1983. Surviving are her daughters Bonnie (Richard Krueger) Strief of The Villages, Florida, Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" (Doug) Bray of Metamora, and Barbara (Brent) Bray of Sandy, Utah; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother. Tootie attended schools in LowPoint and graduated salutatorian of her high school class. She worked at Odee's Beauty Shop in Metamora and later at Garber's Grocery store. She was active in every aspect of her life, serving with the American Legion Auxiliary and the Woodford County Home Bureau Extension, giving lessons on various homemaking topics. She was a true Super Mom - cooking, baking, canning, sewing, crocheting, knitting - she did it all. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel in Metamora with Bishop Donald Mehr officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
