Debra Davis, 68, passed away peacefully at her home in Metamora, IL on the morning of Tuesday, February 7, 2023. She fought through a long battle with cancer to welcome grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and complete her travels through all 50 states.
Debra was born May 26, 1954, in Spring Valley, Illinois. She was a graduate of Washington Community High School. She ran her own arts and crafts business for many years and was also proud of her later years spent as a commercial truck driver before her illness took her off the road.
Debra is survived by her four children, Jason Roe, Bronson (Laura) Roe, Roxie (Chris) Bowers, and Brock (Katie) Davis; her twelve grandchildren, Ethan Roe, Aiden Roe, Elliot Roe, Emma Roe, Emily Roe, Ashton Roe, Mia Bowers, Ellie Bowers, Macie Bowers, Christopher Bowers, Jr., Claire Davis, and Wiley Davis; and great-grandchild Westlynn Roe with two more on the way that she didn't quite get to meet. She is also survived by her sisters Carrol Smith and Etta Mudge and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Charlotte and Charles Mudge, and her brother, Allan Mudge.
Debra was an avid traveler and loved the open road. She enjoyed hikes and the quiet of nature. Starved Rock was one of her favorite places to explore and she had many fond memories of adventures there with her family. She cared greatly for her children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed.
Cremation rights have been accorded and her life will be celebrated in private by her family as she wished. The family would like to thank all the caregivers and healthcare workers over the years that let her fulfill her wishes and gave her the time to watch her family grow.
