Obituary

Deanna L. Skinner, 79, of Deltona, Florida, formerly of Metamora and Washington, passed away at AdventHealth Fish Memorial Hospital in Orange City, Florida.

Born January 21, 1947, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, she was the daughter of Robert and Doris Tucker Hays. She married Roger Skinner on June 24, 1967, in Washington, and together they shared 59 years of devoted marriage.

Deanna is survived by her husband, Roger; five children, Andrea (David) Webb of Washington, Michelle Skinner of Deltona, Stefanie (Brian) Mathews of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Heather (Tim) Carroll of Bartonville, Illinois, and Jason (Vanessa) Skinner of Casselberry, Florida; eight grandchildren; and four great‑grandchildren.

Deanna poured her heart into raising their children and later into loving her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren supporting their activities and accomplishments. She was the kind of mother who showed up, cheered loudly, listened deeply, and loved fiercely.

She spent many years working as an administrative assistant at Metamora Township High School, where she touched countless lives with her kindness and steady presence. A passionate reader and a woman of quiet faith, Deanna was a longtime member of Crossroads Methodist Church in Washington.

The family will honor Deanna's life with a private graveside service at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Friends are invited to share memories and stories at www.masonfuneralhomes.com. Memorials in her name may be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation. Mason‑White Funeral Home in Washington is assisting with arrangements.
