Obituary
Dean A. Smith, 86, of Germantown Hills, IL, passed away at 3:30 am on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Snyder Village Health Center in Metamora, IL.
He was born on March 31, 1937, in Deland, IL, to Clarence G. and Anora (Lubers) Smith. He married Patricia Sprague on November 27, 1959.
Surviving are two sons, Jeff Smith of Germantown Hills, IL and Rick (Patricia Shackelford) Smith of Peoria, IL; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two brothers.
Dean was a design engineer, working for Komatsu America Corporation in Peoria, until his retirement.
Cremation rites have been accorded. No services will be held. Burial of Ashes for Dean and his wife, Patricia, will be in Deland Cemetery in Deland, Illinois on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
