WASHINGTON...Dean W. Heiser, 87, son of Luella and Jesse Heiser, was born March 26, 1925, died March 22, 2013 at Scottsdale Healthcare, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dean was born in Peoria, Illinois but moved to Washington at a young age. Dean is survived by his wife, Margaret, of 65 years; two daughters, Linda (husband, Jim Jones) of Jacksonville, Illinois and Lila (husband, Tim Strubhar) of Washington, Illinois; five grandchildren, Heather Weitekamp of Carol Stream, Illinois, Melissa (husband, Danial Gerard) of Athens, Illinois, John Weitekamp (wife, Jen) of Cantrall, Illinois, Nick Strubhar (wife, Whitney) of St. Louis, Missouri and Brad Strubhar (wife, Amy) of Green Valley, Illinois ; and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Pennington, of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. Dean served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945 in the Pacific. He was a member of Calvary Mennonite Church in Washington before moving to Fountain Hills, Arizona. Dean was a partner in the Iliff and Hauser Insurance Agency in Peoria, Illinois. He was a former member of the Rotary Club for many years in Washington and was an avid bowler. He was dearly loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed. A celebration of Dean?s life will be held on Thursday, April 4 at 11 a.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Ken Sistrunk officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. In keeping with Dean?s request, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials for Dean may be directed to Calvary Evangelical Mennonite Church in Washington.
