Dawn R. Schmitt, 62, of Peoria Heights, IL passed away at 8:00 am on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at her residence. She was born on February 23, 1953 in Peoria, IL to Bernard Hubert and Georgia (Ritschel) Schmitt. Surviving are brother Gary Schmitt of Port St. Lucie, FL; sister-in-law Wilma Schmitt of Germantown Hills; numerous nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jay Schmitt, Sr. Dawn was a transport aid for OSF St. Francis Medical Center for 30 years. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Cemetery, Metamora. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to PAWS.
