David E. Kimbro

David E. Kimbro, 77, of Metamora, IL passed away at 11:00 am on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on June 1, 1939 in Donnellson, IL to Euris E. and Lois E. (Elmore) Kimbro. He married Judith A. Downing on June 18, 1961 in Taylorville, IL. She survives. Also surviving is his son Matt (Angie) Kimbro of Metamora; granddaughters Carolyn, Darrell, Sarah, and Rebecca; brother George (Cherrill) Kimbro of Waggoner, IL; and sister Jennifer (Paul) Hendricks of Diveron, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. David worked for Caterpillar from 1968 until 2002, retiring as a system analyst. He was Past President of Emergency 116. He was a long-time, active member of Christian Union Church in Metamora for 20 years. He enjoyed going to flea markets and loved rodeos and horses. David was always nice to everyone and never met a stranger. He loved his granddaughters very much. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Christian Union Church, Metamora with Reverend Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 am until service time at the church. A private family graveside service will follow at Black Partridge Cemetery.
