David Calvin Connelly, 86, of Lowpoint, IL, formerly of Peoria, IL passed away at 8:50 am on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke. He was born on May 15, 1929 in Peoria, IL to Orval W. and Grace (Harker) Connelly. He married Betty Jane Obert on November 9, 1950. She passed on November 9, 1991. He then married Mary Pauli Brauer on April 17, 1993. She passed on April 24, 2012. Surviving are his son Doug (Katie Lemkemann) Connelly of Lowpoint; step-son John Brauer; step-daughters Paula (Jerry) Horst and Kathy (Ward) Lenz; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister Peggy Pierson. He was preceded in death by an infant son, daughter Jeanne Marie Ringler, step-mom Edna Connelly, and sisters Clara Duggins and Effie Symonds. David was a Korean War veteran, serving from March, 1951 through March, 1953. He was a proud member of the UAW Local 974, retiring from Caterpillar Mossville. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Peoria. A special thanks to the Washburn Ambulance Department and the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke for their love and care for David and the many people in this community that they support. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Peoria with Pastor Barry Long officiating with a luncheon following.
