Dale L. Jones

Dale L. Jones age 71 of Metamora, Illinois passed away Monday Feb. 25, 2013 at OSF Medical Center in Peoria. He was born April 4, 1941 in Clarion, PA., to Benjamin and Twila (Kiefer) Jones. He married Jacqueline L. Metcalf on May 15, 1965 in Youngstown Ohio and she survives. Surviving is one son Wm. Scott Jones of Metamora; granddaughters, Sabrina Jones, Olivia Jones, and Kara Ogle. Also surviving are brothers and sisters. Donald (Dorothy) Jones of Edinburg, PA., Vivian Fell of Hubbard OH., Ruth Berkshire of Naples FL., Nancy Rogers of Masury OH., Arnold (Donna) Jones of New Wilmington, PA., and Roger (Peggy) Jones of Minerva OH. He was preceded in death by one son Brad Jones in 2007, and sisters Eleanor Krowlek and Margaret "Peg" Haggerty. Dale was a Press Operator at Caterpillar working at Building LL in E. Peoria for 32 years retiring in 1998. He was a Navy Veteran serving on the Guided Missle Cruiser the Boston during the Bay Of Pigs Invasion. He liked NASCAR, loved fishing, and spending time with his family. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Friday March 1, 2013 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Rev. Rod Schertz officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora where military rites will be accorded.
