Dale T. Bitner

Dale Thomas Bitner, 54, of Germantown Hills passed away on Friday Sept 21, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on Sept 17, 1958 in Peoria the son of Richard and Judith Meyerholz Bitner. He married Julia Fugate Vicary on Sept 1st, 2006 in Eureka. Surviving are his wife of Germantown Hills, one son Zachariah (Lindsay) Bitner of Bartonville, five daughters Jacqueline (Phil Culbertson) Bitner of Pekin, Cassandra (Adam) Thewlis of Peoria, Amy Hoops of Holly Springs, NC, and Amanda Fugate of Peoria, and Amber Fugate of East Peoria. Also surviving are his parents Richard "Buck" (Jody) Bitner of Germantown Hills and his mother Judy (Jim) Holmes of East Peoria, 12 grandchildren as well as two brothers Mark and Donald (Denise) Bitner both of Germantown Hills. He was a truck driver for G & D Transportation for many years retiring in 2001. Visitation will be held for Dale on Wednesday Sept 26, 2012 at Mason Funeral Home in Germantown Hills from 5pm until 7pm. Cremation rites will follow his visitation and a memorial service will then be held 10:30 on Thursday Sept 27, 2012 at Faith Evangelical Free Church 1337 Lourdes Rd in rural Metamora with the Rev. Dan Leman officiating. Donations may be made to the Dale Thomas Bitner family fund established at any PNC Bank location or to the Illinois Cancer Center in Peoria.
