D. Larry Krigbaum, 84, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria.

Larry was born on February 23, 1942, in Hannibal, Missouri, the son of Samuel and Pearl Krigbaum. He married Nancy Zuidema in Peoria on June 8, 1968.

Larry is survived by his wife, Nancy of Peoria, and one daughter, Dena (Jason Hatfield) Krigbaum, of Marquette Heights, Illinois. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Julia and Madelyn Krigbaum, Cole and Carson Metzler, Zachary Janes, and Dalton Baker. He was preceded in death by one son, Kevin, in 2020, and by two brothers, Ronald and Richard Krigbaum.

He taught for District 150 at both Trewyn and Garfield Schools in Peoria before retiring.

Larry was a dedicated member of First United Methodist Church in Peoria, where he loved singing in the choir. Larry was also a passionate leader in the Walk to Emmaus Ministries and was a coordinator for Loaves and Fish. He served as the past president of the Wardcliffe Homeowners Association. Larry enjoyed many of life's simple pleasures, including photography, remodeling, and traveling, which brought him joy and relaxation.

Larry and Nancy have happily called Proctor Place in Peoria home for the past two years, relishing the joy of forming new friendships along the way. They've been truly grateful for the kind and compassionate care Larry received at Proctor’s Shepherd’s Way.

At Larry’s request, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service is scheduled for 3 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2026, with a memorial visitation beginning at 2 pm, all at First United Methodist Church in Peoria. Pastor Steve Pichaske will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be given to Loaves and Fish at First United Methodist Church-Peoria.
