Bartonville

Cynthia M. “Cindy” Terrell, 70, of Bartonville, IL, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL. surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born on June 1, 1955, in Peoria, the daughter of the late Ronald and Barbara Phillips Heaton. She married Randy Terrell on February 22, 1975, in Peoria.

Surviving are her husband, children, Scott (Jodie) Terrell of Dunlap, Tammy (Todd) Shepperd of Bartonville, Troy Terrell of Bartonville, Danny (Sabrina) Terrell of Pekin, IL, Becca (Adam) Williams of Washington, IL, and Ed (Melissa) Maubach of Peoria. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, along with one brother, Ronald (Cindy) Heaton of Glasford.

She dedicated 28 years to District 150 in Peoria, serving students in the Woodrow Wilson School cafeteria with care.

Later, she brought her talents to Holy Family Catholic School, and in her final working years, she worked as a bus monitor for Illinois Central School Bus in Bartonville. She was also a devoted member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Peoria.

Born with a heart full of compassion, Cindy dedicated her life to nurturing not only her own children but also any friend of her children who crossed her doorstep. Her home was a sanctuary for many, a place where laughter filled the rooms and memories were made. She had a unique gift for making each person feel like part of her family, and her legacy of love and acceptance will live on in the countless lives she touched.

Cindy was known for her empathetic spirit and her soft spot for children. Her career was marked by her dedication to those in need. Her passions extended beyond her work and family. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, her enthusiasm for the game as enduring as her love for her team. Many will recall the joy in her eyes and the cheer in her voice as she celebrated each victory and stood by her team through every challenge.

Her simple pleasures in life included savoring a Cherry Pepsi and donning her favorite tie-dye T-shirts, reflecting her colorful, vibrant personality. Yet, above all, Cindy found her greatest fulfillment in the roles that defined her most profoundly: being a devoted wife, a loving mom, and an adoring nana. Her family was her world, and she poured her entire being into ensuring their happiness and well-being.

Cindy’s journey through life was marked by an unwavering commitment to love, kindness, and family. Her memory will be cherished, her laughter missed, and her influence felt for generations to come. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we take solace in knowing that her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Her life was a beautiful story of love in action, and she will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church, with Fr. Gregory Jozefiak celebrating. Visitation will begin one hour before her service, also at the church, offering a time to share memories. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions to the Illinois Cancer Center or the American Heart Association. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington is caring for the arrangements.
