Colleen J. (Kauffman) Martin

Colleen J. Martin, 70, of Delavan IL, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 10:27 pm at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

She was born on February 16, 1954, in Omer, Michigan to Delmar and Ruth (Swartzentruber) Kauffman. She married Ronald W. Martin on July 24, 1976. He passed away on August 10, 2014.

She is survived by her children, Phil Martin of Metamora, IL, Alissa (Myron) Swantz of Kalona, IA, Greg (Kathy) Martin of Delavan, IL, and Dana (Dani) Martin of Eureka, IL; eleven grandchildren, Jessica (Luke) Birkey, Elizabeth, Lincoln, and Rebecca Martin, Micah, Kaitlynn, and Andrew Swantz, and Easton, Barrett, and Payton Martin, and baby boy on the way. Also surviving are her stepmother, Mildred Kauffman of Turner, MI, as well as sisters, Rhoda (Willie) Gonzales of Yantis, TX, Bonnie (Bill) Hartwick of Saginaw, MI, Kimberly Kauffman of Saginaw, MI, and Lynette (Joel) Hartzman of Flint, MI, brothers, Keith (Linda) Kauffman and Eugene (Carol) Kauffman, both of Au Gres, MI, and sister-in-law, Nancy Kauffman of Middlebury, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Dean Kauffman.

Colleen was a homemaker. She loved sewing, quilting, baking, and keeping herself busy. After Ron's passing, she continued to be active. Colleen was a member of Linn Mennonite Church, and even though she lived an hour away, she rarely missed a service.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 10:00 am at Linn Mennonite Church in rural Roanoke, with church ministers officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, at the church from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and also one hour prior to her service on Thursday. Burial will be in Stewart Harmony Cemetery in rural Metamora. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Linn Mennonite Church, 1594 County Road 1700 N, Roanoke, IL 61561.
