Clifford N. Hahn

WASHINGTON?Clifford N. Hahn, 90, of Washington, passed away at 5:35 a.m., Monday, September 23, 2013 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. Cliff was born on January 9, 1923 in Low Point, Illinois to Charles and Elvira (Schoaf) Hahn. He married Rachel Davis in Peoria on November 2, 1945. They have celebrated over 67 years of marriage together. Among those surviving is his wife, Rachel; one daughter, Linda (Kimbal) Weber of Washington; one grandson, Joshua Weber; two sisters, Ora Rose of Yorba Linda, California and Joan Abel of Eureka; one brother, Paul Hahn of Metamora and many loving nieces and nephews. Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, one son, David Hahn that died in 1985, three brothers and three sisters. He retired from WABCO in Peoria where he had worked as a machinist, instructor and inspector for more than 40 years. Cliff was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps as a radio operator and gunner. He was an active member of Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington where he had served as an usher for over 50 years. He was also a life member of Taylor Lodge #98 A.&F.M. Cliff loved to fish, hunt and play golf when he had the opportunity. For many years he raised racing pigeons in the back yard. After retirement, he and Rachel enjoyed spending more than 20 winters in Florida together. Above all else, he was a great husband, father and grandfather to the family that he loved so much. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with Pastors John Hauck and Bob DeBolt officiating. Burial of cremains will follow in Glendale Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Evangelical United Methodist Church.
