Chester H. "Chet" Wurster, 78, of Spring Bay, IL passed away at 1:55 pm on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. He was born on January 9, 1943 in Peoria, IL to Raymond and Betty (Stanhope) Wurster. He married Georgia E. Dotson on September 29, 1978.
Surviving are his wife, Georgia of Spring Bay; children, Christine (Mike) Biagini of Washington, Sherri (Jeff) Pollard of Germantown Hills, Scott (Jenny) Sheets Sr. and Shawn Sheets both of Spring Bay; son-in-law, Trent Luster; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, siblings, Richard (Jan) Wurster of Bloomington, Bette Rae Stear of Morton, and Sharon (Jim) Dawson of Pekin; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Melissa Luster, and grandson Scottie Sheets Jr.
Chet was a self-employed electrician and then truck driver. He was the owner of the Village Inn in Spring Bay for 35 years. He was an avid Bears and Cubs fan. He loved traveling, vacations, was a MTHS football fan, and a duck hunter. He loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed family gatherings.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Reverend Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Bay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Spring Bay American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post 1115, 500 Legion Lane, East Peoria, IL 61611. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
