Cheryl L. Evans

Cheryl Lynn Evans (Harshman), 70, of Washington passed away peacefully at 6:34pm Monday April 17, 2017 at her home supported and surrounded by her loving family that cherished her so much. She was born on June 24, 1946 in Peoria daughter of Glen and Mildred Clark Harshman. In 1982, she met Dave the love of her life. They were married in 1984 and spent 34 years living life to its fullest. Cheryl is remembered by her family members and closet friends as "Ned". She dedicated much of her professional career serving as a paralegal for a law firm in Peoria. After retiring in 1995, she and her husband moved to Waveland, MS enjoying the gulf shore life. They returned to Washington in 2013 to be closer to family and friends. Cheryl lived her life with an amazing spirit, sense of humor, much joy, and an abundance of smiles, and gave generously of her love to and for others. She is survived by her cherished and devoted husband David, her step children Scott (Julie) Evans, Craig (Denise) Evans Tim (Kelly) Evans all of Washington. Also surviving are her niece Susan Flewelling Maxsween of Syracuse, NY, five grandchildren, Tyler, Raegan, Quinn, Cami and Corey along with two great nieces Dana Flewelling of Los Angeles, CA and Sarena Flewelling of Myrtle Beach, SC. Her parents and one sister in 2006 preceded her in death. A heartfelt thank you to the Methodist Hospice team that cared for Cheryl during her illness with compassion and amazing grace. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials in her name may be given to TAPS No Kill Shelter.
