Charlotte L. Poehlman

WASHINGTON…Charlotte L. Poehlman, 65, of Washington, passed away at 6:50 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Char was born on September 9, 1949 in Pekin to Gene and Dorothea (Kern) Erwin. She married Robert Poehlman in Washington on November 3, 1973. Bob survives. Also surviving are their three children, Nathan (Stacy) Poehlman of Bakersfield, California, Tami (Bradley) Smull of St. Louis and Matthew (Veronica) Poehlman of Washington; one brother, Leonard (Bridget) Erwin of Lewistown; one sister, Rebecca Erwin of Washington and six loving grandchildren, Alex, Zach, Katie, John, Andy and Hope. Char had worked for many years as a legal secretary at various law firms in the area. She received her Associates Degree from Robert Morris College and later earned her Bachelors Degree from Sangamon State University. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington. Char loved to play the piano for others as well as for Bible School at the church. She also enjoyed knitting and various crafts as well as cooking and baking for her family and friends. A service to celebrate Char's life will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home with Pastor John Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens south of Washington. Visitation for Char will be on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Memorials for Char may be directed to either Washington Rescue Squad or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
