Charles "Chuck" Wilbur Wiechmann

Charles Wilbur "Chuck" Wiechmann, 91, of Germantown Hills, IL, passed away at 8:31 am on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Carle Health-Proctor Hospital in Peoria, IL.

He was born on June 24, 1933, in Pontiac, IL, to Ebe M. and Freda L. (Northcutt) Wiechmann. He married Phyllis Marie Zehr on March 29, 1953 in Flanagan, IL. She passed away on October 8, 2020.

Surviving are their children, Teresa Barnard of Peoria, IL, Torrey Wiechmann and Todd (Deborah) Wiechmann both of Germantown Hills, and Tim (Cyndi) Wiechmann of Peoria Heights, IL; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents, Albert and Anna Wiechmann, and maternal grandparents, Charles and Grace Northcutt.

Chuck was a U.S. Army Veteran. He worked in management for Schrepfer and Martin Lumber in Germantown Hills for 27 years. Chuck was a member of Germantown Hills Fire Department, the Germantown Hills School Board, and St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington. He also was a coach for Little League and a den leader for the Cub Scouts.

Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family. Whether it was traveling to Colorado, Canada or Missouri, or just camping at Isaac Walton, it was always with family. He was especially thrilled to have visits with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and his canine companions became the "official neighborhood watch" on "The Road." Chuck also loved working with wood, making rocking horses, pouting chairs, benches and many seasonal decorations. He taught his children to love nature and God.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service to honor both Chuck and Phyllis will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Pastor Dick Hanson officiating and military rites accorded. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time, also on Saturday at the funeral home.
