WASHINGTON?Charles W. "Doc" Sinks, 76, of Washington, passed away peacefully at 4:25 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2012 at Washington Christian Village with his family by his side. Doc was born on December 13, 1935 in McLeansboro, Illinois to John and Ida (Glen) Sinks. He married Gracia Farris in McLeansboro in February of 1955. Doc later married Carol Sexton on January 7, 1967 in Washington. Carol survives. Among those surviving are four daughters, Donetta (Greg) Lyle of Bloomington, IL, Tamala Smith of Charleston, MO., Bobbie Cantor of Washington and Michelle (Alan) Wiles of Peoria; two sons, Tony (Leah) Sinks and Charles Keith (Val) Sinks, both of Washington; one sister, Bonnie O?Cline of Haskell, OK and Glen (Genevive) Sinks of Eldorado, IL; special friends and neighbors, Sue and Nolan Pierceall of Washington; 14 grandkids and almost 12 great grandkids. He was preceded in death by both parents; one brother, John Sinks and two sisters, Wilma Leslie and Doris Mayberry. Doc was retired from Caterpillar where he had worked for 40 years and at the time of his retirement was a mechanical inspector. He was also a member of Harvard Hills Baptist Church. Visitation for Doc will be held on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home. Graveside services will be private at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
