Charles Barth

WASHINGTON-Charles N. Barth, 83, formerly of Washington, IL passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at Parkview Hospital in Huntington, IN. He was born on July 26, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the son of Charles and Mildred Walker Barth. He married Elma Marie Osler on May 10, 1952. She died on January 18, 2016. Also preceded him in death was one brother. Survivors of Charles Barth are; one son Jeff Barth of Metamora, IL four daughters, Kathy (Rick) Hittle of Navarre, Florida, Pam (Jerry) Crone of Andrews, IN; Terry (Norm) Hare of Low Point, IL, and Jean (Craig) Cranford of Hamburg, Arkansas. Further surviving are 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, one sister Thelma (Fred) Adams of Mechanicsville, VA. and many beloved nieces and nephews. Charles retired from Bemis Bag Company in Peoria, IL. He spent the remainder of his years fishing and watching Cubs ball games. He had but one wish saying that he would die after the Cubs won the World Series. He loved the Lord and was very active in the Church in Illinois. He continued to fish, catching 57 blue gills on his last fishing outing last year. He never met a stranger, everybody loved him. He was a great example to his family. His legacy to all is to love one another. A memorial service and a celebration of Elma and Charles Barth's Life will be held 1:00pm, Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Mason Funeral Home in Metamora. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora, IL. Condolences for the family may be sent using www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
