Charlene M. Wernsman

Charlene M. Wernsman age 78 of Germantown Hills, Illinois passed away at 6:20am Tuesday Nov. 12, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born August 12, 1935 in Metamora, Illinois to Paul A. and Verna M. (Noe) Wagner she married Robert A. Wernsman on Dec. 30, 1954 at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church and he survives. Surviving are four sons, David (Gayle) Wernsman, Brian (Debbie) Wernsman, Paul Wernsman, Keith (Kriss) Wernsman all of Germantown Hills; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Charlene is also survived by her siblings, Mary Jean Kennel of Metamora, Jan (Steve) Stamper of Berea, Kentucky, Ronald (Carol) Wagner of Allen, Texas, and Paulette (Mike) Hillyer of Metamora. She was preceded in death by her great granddaughter Shae Michelle Wernsman and two sisters, Donna Rose Jenkins and Kay Pauline Wagner. Charlene as a member of St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church and had worked for many years at the Midway Duck Inn, Garber?s Grocery Store, and with her husband Bob at Wernsman?s Family Restaurant. She loved cooking, baking and being with her family. A funeral Mass will be at 10:30am Monday Nov. 18, 2013 at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in rural Metamora with Father Neri Greskoviak officiating. Visitation will be from 9am until 10am Monday at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary of Lourdes Cemetery.
