Charlene M. Strubhar

Charlene Marjorie Strubhar, 102, of Washington, IL, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Washington Senior Living in Washington, IL.

She was born on March 29, 1920, in Clinton, IL, the daughter of John F. and Esther M. Andrews Hammond. She married W. Donald Strubhar on September 2, 1938, in Washington. He passed away in June 7,1975. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Hammond, Marcia Fandel, and one infant sister Dorothy Jean Hammond.

Surviving are two sons, Greg (Cheryl) Strubhar and Tim (Lila) Strubhar, all of Washington. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Amy Strubhar, and Scott (Abbey) Strubhar, both of Washington, IL, Nicholas (Whitney) Strubhar, of Kirkwood, MO and Brad (Amy) Strubhar of Pekin, IL along with six great-grandchildren.

Charlene worked for V.I. Strubhar and Sons Plumbing and Heating as their bookkeeper, and later was the membership secretary for the Illinois Association of Senior Citizens. She was a member of Calvary Community Church in Washington, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Charlene enjoyed morning coffee, dining with friends, playing cards, Sunday night dinners with family and attending her grandchildren's sporting events, and other activities.  The family would like to express their gratitude to Washington Senior Living, and VITAS Hospice for the kind and compassionate care for Charlene and her family.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Friday, January 6, 2023, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Pastor Clayton Tinervin will officiate. Visitation will be one-hour before her service also at the funeral home. Her interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
