Catherine L. "Kate" Meyer, 84, of East Peoria, IL passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 7:30 am at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. She was born on July 11, 1930 in Decatur, IL to Charles and Hazel (Slover) Easley. She married Arthur R. "Art" Meyer on May 11, 1952 in Peoria. He died on January 25, 2008. Surviving are son Steven (Janet) Meyer of East Peoria; daughter Susan (Tamas) Grebner of Metamora; four grandchildren Mindy (Allen) Coker, Samantha (Aaron) Bennett, Kasey (Troy) Vanderschraaf and Rachel (Michael Botes) Grebner; eight great-grandchildren; and sister Loretta (Melvin) Allen of Spring Bay. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Jeffery, daughter Pamela and two sisters. She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church and was a past Sunday School teacher and a member of the church?s Ladies Guild. Kate enjoyed crafting and also traveling and camping with their camper. She loved her grandkids and great-grandkids. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 11:00 am at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Pastor Lloyd Moss officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 4:00 till 7:00 pm and also an hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Peoria.
