Carol Joy Schrock

Carol Joy Schrock, 68, of rural Cazenovia, passed away at 3:22 PM January 9, 2013 surrounded by family at her home. She was born September 24, 1944 to Orie and Florence (Landes) Kindy. She married Ralph Lynn Schrock on June 26, 1971 in Metamora, IL. He survives. Carol was mother to Carolyn (Bryan) Hulme of Murfreesboro TN, Amy (Andrew) Langewisch of Cazenovia, IL, and Douglas Schrock of Lowpoint, IL. She was the proud grandmother of 5 grandchildren: Austin, Jenna, Ryan, Kandyce, and Zachary, and 7 step-grandchildren: Peirce, Elizabeth, Jaxson, Rylie, Reigha, Rayna, and Kyle. Also surviving are her mother, Florence Kindy of Plumsteadville PA, siblings David (Anita)Kindy, of Winston-Salem NC, Karen (Bill) Fennell of Easton, PA, the late Rachel (Ken ) Reinford of Ephrata PA, Diane(Basil) Qaqish of Winston-Salem NC, Rosemary (Steve) Landis of Harleysville, PA, and Joanne Mercer of Ephrata, PA. She was preceded in death by her father Orie Kindy, her sister Rachel Reinford, Sister-in-law Merna Kindy, and nephew Jon Kindy. Carol was a Registered Nurse, last working in 2008 at OSF St. Francis as a Mother-Baby nurse. She enjoyed her job and her co-workers. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, knitting, crocheting, and quilting, making quilts and numerous other gifts for those in her life. She also dedicated a lot of time to Bible Study, and enjoyed the Precept Ministries Studies. She was a woman of great faith, who loved her Lord, and a member of Living Faith Fellowship Church in Eureka. Carol fought her cancer battle with great strength and determination. Her faith throughout her cancer journey inspired many. Graveside services will be at 9:30am Tuesday Jan. 15, 2013 at Stewart Harmony Cemetery in rural Metamora with a Memorial service to follow at 11:00am at Metamora Mennonite Church with Rev. Brett Woerner officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4pm until 7pm at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel and also one hour prior to services at the church.
