Carol Jean Lott

Carol Jean Lott, 80, of Washington, passed away with her family by her side, on November 7, 2017 after suffering a stroke on October 14th, 2017. The family is comforted knowing that Carol is now in the presence of her loving Savior, Jesus Christ.

Carol was born May 6, 1937, in Champaign, IL to Delmar and Ruth (Davis) Reed. On September 29,1956 she pledged to love her sweetheart, Walter D. Lott in Washington, Illinois. They just celebrated 61 years together. Carol is survived by her husband, Walter D. Lott of Washington; one son, Ted (Marca) Lott of Washington and three daughters, Deborah (Alan) Compton of Round Lake Beach, IL; Judy (Mike) Julien of Bloomington, IL; Jennifer (George) Anglin of Metamora, IL; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; eight nephews and eight nieces, and one brother, Ted Reed of California. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Richard and Gary Reed.

Carol was a member of Grace Bible Church in Washington for fifty years. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, working in the church library and helping with Vacation Bible School. Carol also enjoyed volunteering as a "listener" in AWANA for children reciting their verses.

Carol was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandma, aunt, and friend. She loved spending time with family, going on picnics, swimming, playing softball in her younger years, and riding horseback. She loved to sew, knit, crochet, scrapbook and paint. Her children and grandchildren cherish the handmade blankets and clothes she lovingly crafted for them through the years.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 10, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home, 20 Valley Forge Rd., Washington, IL 61571. A funeral service to Celebrate her life, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Grace Bible Church, 1109 S. Main St., Washington, IL 61571. Pastor Adam Kipp will officiate. Further visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until her time of service at the church. Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery, Washington, IL.
