Bryan W. Sheets, 64, of Washington, IL passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on September 28, 1960, in Peoria, IL, to Walter W. and Barbara J. (Bradley) Sheets. He married Kimberly A. Jennings on December 18, 1993 in Washington.
Surviving are his wife, Kim of Washington, IL; children, Jade (Ramona) Corr of Pekin, IL and Nathaniel (Courtney) Sheets of Roanoke, IL; sister, Cindy (Dave) McClaskey of Brimfield, IL; father-in-law, Ken Jennings of Morton, IL; mother-in-law, Linda Weedon of Washington, IL; sister-in-law, Teresa (Paul) Oaks of Morton, IL; nieces and nephews, Ashley (Josh) Catour of Brimfield, IL, Christopher (Brooke) McClaskey of Elmwood, IL, Brandon (Kati) Westlake of St. Louis, MO, and Emily (Josh) Barnewolt of Deer Creek, IL; and great-nephews, J.D., Brady, and Reed Catour, Carter, Jackson, and Rowen McClaskey, and Kallon Barnewolt. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bryan graduated from Richwoods High School and Olivet Nazarene University. He worked as a chemist in the quality control department at Evonik Chemical Company in Mapleton, IL for 33 years, retiring in March, 2024. He was a proud member of the Evonik Fire Department for over 20 years.
He had played volleyball and softball for many years and also bowled on his former church's bowling league. Bryan enjoyed golfing, fishing and was an avid Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks fan. He enjoyed all the many vacations throughout the United States with his wife and kids and traveling to Canada, Jamaica, and Mexico.
Bryan had a strong faith in Jesus and was a member of Washington Christian Church in Washington. He was a dedicated family man, always providing for his family and being there for his wife and children. He loved them unconditionally and always put them first above himself.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Washington Christian Church with Pastor Kevin Dell officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until time of service. Burial of Ashes will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington, IL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to OSF Hospice, 2265 West Altorfer Drive, Peoria, IL 61615 for their care and compassion to Bryan, especially Nurse Payton for all his compassion and visits.
