Bruna "Bernice" Facker, 90, of Snyder Village in Metamora, formerly of West Peoria passed away and was ushered into Heaven to stand by her Lord at 10:05am Monday December 12, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. She was born on July 6, 1921 in Schram City, IL the daughter of Gaspero and Annunziata Ghelardini. She married Robert L. Facker Sr. on June 16, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY. He passed away on June 23, 2003 in Peoria. Her parents, one sister Mary Montel and two brothers Bruno Ghelardini and Ivo Ghelardini also preceded her in death. She was a former member of the Elks of Peoria and current member of the Neighborhood House Tuesday Club and a loyal member of the Italian-American Society of Peoria. During WWII she worked in the U.S. Government?s office of Price Administration. She later served as a bookkeeper for E.W. Blair Co, in Brooklyn, NY, the Peoria County Health Department and Cummings & Emerson in Peoria. She was a devoted wife, cherished mother, treasured grandmother and great-grandmother, precious sister, honored aunt and unforgettable friend. She was a member of St. Mary?s Church in Metamora and a child of God. Anyone who knew her has seen His love shine through her. She blessed everyone?s life that she touched. She was greeted in Heaven by her mother and father, two brothers, a sister and her husband. She is survived by two sons Robert (Kathleen) Facker Jr. of Eureka, and Dave (Kathy) Facker of Germantown Hills. Further surviving are five grandchildren Robert J. (Kassidy) Facker, Angela (Doug) Fandel; Carlie Facker, Jessica (Alex) Etheridge, and Tyler Facker as well as two great grandchildren Cooper and Krue, and many nieces, nephews and numerous friends. The family will receive friends from 4pm until 6pm Wednesday December 14, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel. Cremation will follow her visitation with a private family service at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria. Memorials may be given in her name to Snyder Village.
