It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brad C. Peterson, 53, who peacefully passed on April 4, 2025, surrounded by all his family.
Brad was born March 6, 1972, in Peoria, IL and is the son of Kenneth and Carol Holcomb Peterson.
Surviving are his children Christina (Evan) Hickerson of Mapleton, IL, Peyton (Hunter Mamer) Peterson of Washington, Griffin Peterson and Jessie Peterson both of Abingdon, IL; his mother Carol Peterson Mackinaw, IL. Also surviving are three grandchildren Kaileigh, Jayden and Tanner Hickerson; four sisters Terry (Rick) Firmand of Indianapolis, IN, Debbie Peterson of Embden, Maine, Jenny (James) Langendoerfer of Imperial, MO and Kathy (Terry) Jackson of Washington. Also surviving are his four-footed companions Oakley and Bonnie. He was preceded in death by his father, one nephew Adam Christopher, and one brother in law Scott Trent.
Brad was a beloved father, papa, brother, son, and friend, and was known for his keen sense of humor, love for cars and his adventurous thrill-seeking side.
Brad dedicated his life to the mechanics profession, starting his career at Roanoke Motors at the age of 18. In 2012, he confidently took the leap to establish his own business, "Peterson Automotive and Diesel," showcasing his expertise and passion for the industry. Brad was recognized for numerous attributes, but his reputation as an outstanding mechanic stood out above all.
He valued his time with his buddies, along with Gabby and Leslie, who he nicknamed "Leggs." Brad devoted a significant amount of his time to working on his Camaro and enjoyed watching NASCAR.
Brad was a devoted family member who cherished his time with his children and grandchildren. He loved taking family vacations, creating lasting memories, and fostering strong bonds with those he held dear. Whether it was a vacation or holiday adventure, Brad always found joy and laughter in the togetherness with his family and will always be remembered for the love he shared with them.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 am on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Pastor Tom Goodell will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until his time of service. Inurnment of his remains will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial in his name may be given to NextStep Rehabilitation Center, 8701 Maitland Summit Blvd, Orlando, FL 32810. Mason-White Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
