Bonnie L. Lucas

WASHINGTON?Bonnie L. Lucas, 87, of Washington, passed away at 10:45 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria. Bonnie was born on August 30, 1926 in Deer Creek to Frank and Henrietta (Bowers) Piper. She married Donald E. Lucas in Washington on June 2, 1945. Don died on November 16, 2006 at their home in Washington. Among those surviving are their three children, Kathy (Arlan) Wehnes and Robert (Cheri) Lucas, both of Washington and Larry (Nancy) Lucas of Green Braee, California; five loving grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Scott Wehnes who died Nov. 3, 1998 in South Carolina, one brother and one sister. Don and Bonnie were very active in various square dance groups in the Peoria area. Bonnie was a very active member of St. Mark?s Lutheran Church in Washington and she also participated in a bible study group with the church. Services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark?s Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Mason-White Funeral Home is assisting the family in arrangements. Memorials for Bonnie may be made to either the church or the Scott Wehnes Scholarship Fund.
