Bonnie J. Grounds

Bonnie J. Grounds, 85, of Bayview Gardens, IL, formerly of Bernie, MO, passed away at 12:36 pm on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.  She was born on June 27, 1933 in Parma, MO to Jasper and Daily (Harwood) Ray.  She married Jolly J. Grounds on July 3, 1958.  He passed away on August 20, 1997.

Surviving are her siblings Emma Cooper of Kelso, MO, Maxine Owens of Godfrey, IL, and Devin Barnes of Bernie, MO who was special to her heart; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.  She was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.

Bonnie was a supervisor for Owen-Illinois.  She enjoyed cooking, quilting, sewing.  She especially enjoyed working out in the yard and loved her family very much.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Spring Bay American Legion Post 1115.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Dogwood United Methodist Church in East Prairie, MO with Pastor Brian Abbott officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time on Tuesday at the church.  Burial of ashes will be in Dogwood Cemetery, East Prairie, MO.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate, 530 NE Glen Oak Avenue, Peoria, IL 61637.  Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
