Bill J. Howlett, 85, of Washington, IL passed away peacefully at 2:00 am on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Reflections Memory Care in Washington. He was born on January 14, 1931 in Knob Lick, MO the son of Stanley and Annie (Clemons) Howlett. He married Florence L. Stauch on June 18, 1960 in Peoria. She passed away on May 9, 2012. Also preceding him in death were one infant sister, one sister Lucille Wallace and one brother Harold Howlett. Surviving are three daughters Linda (Larry) Meier of Pekin, Rebecca (George) Reyes of El Paso, TX and Angela (Greg) Keil of Washington. Also surviving are seven grandchildren Tony, Jodi and Royce Fults, Emily and Sam Reyes, and Brittni Sharp and Nicole Keil and seven great-grandchildren. Further surviving is one brother Bob Howlett of Knob Lick, MO and one sister Shirley (Don) Swanson of St. Louis, MO along with a host of many nieces and nephews. Bill was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict and proudly served his country for over 20 years before his honorable discharge in 1972. He then worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 20 years retiring in 1992. Bill had many enjoyments in life including woodworking and fishing. He was a very dedicated family man and will be missed by all who knew him. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be held one hour prior to his service at the funeral home. Entombment will be in American Mausoleum with military rites being conducted.
