WASHINGTON?Beulah R. Addler, 88, of Washington, passed peacefully into eternal glory at 6:10 a.m., Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. Beulah was born on November 22, 1924 in Mason County, Illinois to Alfred W. and Delta (VornHolt) Schappaugh. She married her best friend, John W. Addler, Jr. in Peoria on July 31, 1948 and they enjoyed over 65 years of sharing life together. He survives along with two sons, Steven (Patricia) Addler of Tenstrike, Minnesota and Bruce (Christine) Addler of Washington; one daughter, Nancy Swigart of Washington; one brother, Lawrence Schappaugh of St. Petersburg, Florida; three sisters, Wilma (Gerald) Sering and Veda Burton, both of Peoria and Wanda Neely of Springfield; nine grandchildren Jennifer (Mark) Bloomquist, Max (Sara) Addler, Sam (Roz) Addler, John (Alicia) Addler, Pete Addler, Ross (Sara) Addler, Andrew (Gwen) Addler, Jeff (Kara) Swigart, and Phil Swigart; and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Marilyn Schappaugh and her son-in-law, David Swigart. Beulah?s career was that of a homemaker, as her life was centered around her children and grandchildren. She always said her family was her greatest blessing. She served her children and their friends as a Cub Scout Den Mother and Brownie Leader. She was active in Home Extension and was a member of the same Secret Pal Club for more than 55 years. She was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington for over 60 years where she was active in various groups and committees during that time. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She always enjoyed the annual family fishing trips to the north woods, especially the many memorable trips to Cedar Rapids Lodge in Minnesota. Funeral services for Beulah will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington with Pastor Tom Goodell officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens, south of Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Mason-White Funeral Home is assisting the family in arrangements.
