Bettye J. Wilson

WASHINGTON?Bettye J. Wilson, 87, of Washington, passed away at 7:45 a.m., Monday, February 9, 2015 at Unity Point-Proctor in Peoria. Bettye was born on October 25, 1927 in Harvey, Illinois to Conrad and Myra (Moss) Long. She married James R. Wilson in Harvey on August 30, 1947. Jim survives. Also surviving is one son, Michael (Gayanne) Wilson of Metamora and two grandchildren, Nathan and Erika. Bettye had worked as a medical technician and chemist for various hospitals and labs in the area as well as the University of Utah Medical School lab prior to devoting her time to taking care of her family. After high school graduation, Bettye attended Millikin University. Bettye enjoyed playing bridge and participated in many card clubs. She also loved golf and was active member of a ladies league in Peoria and in her spare time she enjoyed reading. Funeral services for Bettye will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Mason-White Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
