METAMORA?Betty Jean Belsly Worner, 86, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 10:45 a.m. at the Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka. Betty was born on November 11, 1927 in Metamora, Illinois to Harvey and Maud (Wagner) Belsly and married Kenneth C. Worner in Kansas City, Kansas on October 24, 1946. Survivors include four children, Janet Worner and Sharon (Daniel) Seckler, both of Morton, Nancy (Larry) Garlisch of Forest City and Timothy (Karen) Worner of Metamora; eleven grandchildren, Victoria Armbrust, James Kight-Garlisch, Ann Garlisch, Brandon Worner, Ben Worner, Austin Worner, Kristen Worner, Kyle Seckler, Kara Seckler, Melissa Seckler and Derek Schussele; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her parents, sister Eva Becker and one grandson, Andrew Worner. Betty attended Grace Presbyterian Church and a member of FTF Sunday School class. She was a great example of faithfulness to her Lord and Savior. She taught Sunday School and Bible School, was a Sunday School Superintendant. Betty attended a one room country school house. She was a room mother chairman at Metamora Grade School. Betty had been a cheerleader in High School, she also had served on the Election Board, belonged to Woodford County Farm Bureau and to Tazewell County Home Bureau. Betty had also been the secretary for the Vice President of CILCO. She and her husband of 63 years loved to travel out west and to Branson, Missouri. Visitation for Betty will be Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with burial in Glendale Cemetery following visitation. A memorial service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 11 a.m with Pastor Kerry Frantz officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Timber Ridge in Morton or Grace Presbyterian Church. Online condolences to the family may be made at masonfuneralhomes.com
