EAST PEORIA - Betty May Scott, 90, passed away peacefully at 8:35 am, Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on February 24, 1931 in Williamsfield, IL to Clarence W. and Elsie L. (Blust) Tucker.
She married Ronald F. Scott on July 2, 1950, in Knoxville, IL and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are four sons and one daughter, Stephen (Karen) Scott of Normal, IL, Rhonda Kendall of East Peoria, IL, Daniel (Linda) Scott of East Peoria, IL, Bruce Scott (Amy Twedell) of Peoria, IL, and Brian (Carla) Scott of East Peoria, IL; one sister, Jane Hlavach of Washington, IL; eight grandchildren, Kelli (Brad) Xanos of Pekin, IL, Betsy (Dennis) Herold of East Peoria, IL, Michelle Tisdale of Peoria, IL, Marsha (Scott) Kelsey of Peoria, IL, Shane Scott of Pekin, IL, Brandon (Nicole) Scott of East Peoria, IL, Cody (Amanda) Scott of Odenton, MD, and Danielle Scott of East Peoria, IL; ten great-grand-children; and five great- great- grand-children. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters, and one son-in-law.
She and Ron managed the Sheridan Road Dairy Queen in Peoria for 11 years while spending their winters in Florida. She was a member of the Monday Morning Golf League, Wednesday 18-hole League, and the Emblem Club of Peoria, and often played on Fridays with her long-time golf partner Marian Selburg. She loved spending time with her family, golfing, sewing, and watching the Hallmark Channel.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Cottonwood Cemetery in rural Hanna City. Memorials in her name may be given to OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois or Unity Point Methodist Hospice.
