Betty L. (Klawitter) Strickler

Betty L. Strickler, 92, of Metamora, IL, passed away at 11:15 pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Snyder Village Health Center in Metamora.

She was born on October 8, 1932, in Peoria, IL, to Adolf and Helena Anna Sophia (Bontjes) Klawitter. She married Merle J. Strickler on January 21, 1967 in Peoria, IL. He passed away on September 22, 2014.

Surviving are two sons, David (Judy) Strickler and Donald (Mary) Strickler both of Peoria, IL; five grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Diane Strickler, and grandson Matthew Strickler.

Betty worked as a secretary for thirteen years at WABCO in Peoria. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Washington, IL. Betty enjoyed taking trips on cruises and traveling and golfing with her husband, Merle.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria with Reverend Jack Wilcox officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Snyder Village Residents In Need Fund, 1200 East Partridge Street, Metamora, IL 61548.
