Bertha V. Mishler

Bertha V. Mishler age 82 of Metamora, Illinois passed away at 10:06pm Tuesday April 30, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. She was born Oct. 26, 1930 in Metamora to Peter and Cyrilla (Fandel) Kiesewetter. She married Robert W. Mishler on Feb. 21 1950 in Metamora. Surviving are her children, Bob (Chris Kennedy) Mishler of Monument CO., Larry (Edna) Mishler of Hoffman Estates, IL., Judy (Bob) Wetzel of Annandale, N.J., Jim (Patti) Mishler of Cincinnati, OH., Dave Mishler of St. Louis MO., Ron (Shelley) Mishler of Grand Rapids, MI., 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister Rose Neff of Cazenovia, IL., and one brother Anthony Kiesewetter of Dixon, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, one sister and one infant sister. Bertha worked as a secretary for Caterpillar from 1965-1993, was a Life long Member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church, strong supporter of St. Mary?s School and enjoyed watching her children play sports at Spalding, Northwestern University and the University of Notre Dame. She was loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Bertha loved to bake and was a legendary pie and jam maker. She also enjoyed watching her spring flowers bloom. She enjoyed family holiday gatherings and vacations. Every other summer since 1990 the entire family would gather at a destination for a week of family love, and fun activities. The family would like to express a special thanks to Nici Andrade and Mary Vancil who were Bertha?s caregivers over the last two years. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am Monday May 6, 2013 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church with Father Don Roszkowski officiating. Rosary will be at 3:30pm with visitation to follow from 4pm until 8pm Sunday at the Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery in Metamora.
