Bernettia V. Carroll

WASHINGTON?Bernettia V. Carroll (Vickie), 90, of Washington, passed away at 10 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Eureka Apostolic Home. Bernettia was born on July 6, 1924 in Pocahontas, Arkansas to Henry and Elizabeth (Foster) Mayberry. She married Norman Mounts who died in 1968. Bernettia later married James Carroll who also preceded her in death in 2003. Among those surviving are two daughters, Janice Burrows and Cheryl (Michael) Darrow, both of Washington; six grandchildren, Bryan (Diane) Kolb, Amanda, Christopher (Coral), Neil, Timothy and Benjamin Darrow; five great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. One brother, Raymond Mayberry and one granddaughter, Melody Kolb, also preceded her in death. Bernettia loved to read, do various craft projects and spend time whenever possible with her friends. She was always surrounded by her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington. Funeral services for Bernettia will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 10:30 at Mason-White Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Monda officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. and a half hour prior to services on Friday. Memorials for Bernettia may be directed to the Alzheimers Association.
