Bernadine Bernie Kay Gerdom

Bernadine "Bernie" Kay Gerdom, age 74 of Bay View Gardens, E. Peoria, Illinois passed away on Tuesday Feb. 25, 2014 at her residence. She was born Oct. 17, 1939 in Peoria, IL, daughter of Robert and Minnie (Johnson) Weast. She married Gene Gerdom on April 27, 1957 in Peoria, IL. He survives, along with two sons, Howard (RoJea) Gerdom of Peoria, and Mark Gerdom of Bay View Gardens and one daughter Cheryl Gerdom who resided with her, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, two half sisters Brenda (Charlie) Gangloff of Metamora, and Linda Weast of Illinois, one step sister Betty Landwehr of Washington and her seven cats. Her parents, and one daughter Janet Essington preceded her in death. Bernie worked at ATS for nearly 20 years. She was an avid pool player for over 30 years winning many trophies. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Friday Feb. 28, 2014 at Mason Funeral home Germantown Hills Chapel with Rev. Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Bay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Spring Bay Fire and Rescue Squad.
