Bennett C. Knoblauch, age 57, of Metamora, IL, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at his home. He was born July 25, 1956 in Peoria to Donald D. and Jayne C. (Clark) Knoblauch. He married Lori S. Pelz on December 1, 1979 at St. Elizabeth?s in Washburn, IL Surviving are his wife, Lori and children, Jason Knoblauch, Christopher (Barbara) Knoblauch, both of Metamora, IL, Nicholas (Samantha) Knoblauch of Lee, IL, and Shannon Knoblauch of Chicago, IL; one granddaughter, Jayde Knoblauch; his parents of Metamora; brothers, Victor (Cathy) Knoblauch of Palatine and Brian (Kandy) Knoblauch of East Peoria; and sister Clare Knoblauch of Metamora. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Karl and Roger; and two sisters, Myra and Ruth. Bennett graduated from Lowpoint Washburn High School in 1974. He received his Bachelor?s of Science in Agriculture from Illinois State University in 1978. He spent the first three years of his career as a farmer before he switched careers, due to health reasons. He then worked at State Farm Insurance as a Systems Analyst until he retired in 2004. Bennett loved singing and participated in Young Folk at the HOI Fair during his youth. He also enjoyed sports and trivia and rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy or a Cardinals game. He was a life long Catholic and very active in the Cursillo community. Bennett was devoted to his family and his faith. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 8, 2014 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Metamora with Father Ron Dodd officiating. Rosary service will be at 4:30 pm Friday March 7, 2014 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with visitation to follow from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Burial will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery in Metamora. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Easter Seals. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
