Benjamin John Beer

Benjamin John Beer, 77, of Varna, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at his residence while surrounded with loved ones.

He was born on September 18, 1947, in Peoria, IL, to Benjamin H. and Jane (Lewis) Beer. He married Emily F. Schumacher on May 7, 1966, in Eureka, IL.

Emily survives along with daughter, Jennifer (Greg) Matta of Kennesaw, GA; grandchildren, Sarah (Dimitri) Matta of Acworth, GA, Michael (Elisabeth) Matta of Fort Meyers, FL, and Savannah Beer of Toluca, IL; great-grandson, Tyson Matta of Acworth, GA; and sisters, Jeanette Wagner and Judy Blunier both of Roanoke, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, son James Beer, and sister Joan Humphress.

Ben worked as an inspector for Caterpillar Tractor Company until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Per Ben's wishes, no services will be held.
