WASHINGTON...Barbara A. Koenig, 77, formerly of Washington, passed away early Monday, November 14, 2011 at Gassville Nursing Home in Gassville, Arkansas. Barbara was born on July 16, 1934 in Pekin to George and Ada Garls. She married George Koenig on June 29, 1958 in Pekin. George survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Janet (John) Boette, Jeanne Koenig and Jill Koenig, all of the Denver, Colorado area and two grandsons, Garrett and Nolan. She was a homemaker, enjoyed her family and in her spare time loved to sew and quilt. Barbara was a member of the Sisterhood of FFA (Fabric Fondlers Anonymous). Barbara was a 1952 graduate of Pekin High School and was a member of The First Christian Church of Mountain Home, Arkansas. George and Barbara retired to Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1996. Graveside services for Barbara will be held on Thursday, November 17 at 2 p.m. at Glendale Cemetery in Washington with Pastor Jeff Browning officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1 to 1:45 at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. There will also be a memorial service held on Friday, November 18 at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church of Mountain Home with Rev. Lewis Godby officiating.
