Barbara A. (Bair) Sasso

Barbara A. Sasso, 85, of Metamora, IL passed away at 5:43 am on Monday, December 19, 2022 at Snyder Village in Metamora.

She was born on December 28, 1936, in Decatur, IL, to Cecil Lynn and Elizabeth (Green) Bair. She married George M. Sasso on November 10, 1956 in Germany. He passed away on October 1, 1991.

Surviving are her children, Guy (Terri Uphoff) Sasso of Eureka, IL, Joe (Kelly) Sasso of Metamora, IL, John (Sharon) Sasso of Gulf Port, MS, Bob (Kim) Sasso of Washburn, IL, Anthony (Gypsy) Sasso of Ava Maria, FL, Cindy (Mark) Urban of Metamora, Teri (Jerry) Thomas of Metamora, and Angelina (Cary) Biondolillo of Castle Rock, CO; eighteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother, Glenwood Bohlander of Metamora; and sisters, Shirley Wilson of Washington, IL and Sandra (Dan) Pollard of Lowpoint, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Glenwood Bohlander, brothers Richard and Jack Bohlander, and sister JoAnn Crisp.

Barbara was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1955 until 1957. She had worked at the Dairy Queen in Metamora and worked in housekeeping at Snyder Village until her retirement in 2000. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and bowling and loved her pets.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Reverend Robert DeBolt officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to her service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Metamora with military rites accorded.
