Arthur W. "Uncle Bud" Haedicke, 90 of East Peoria, passed away at 3:00am Wednesday Jan. 30, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Born at home on Sept. 15, 1922 in E. Peoria to Arthur O. and Theresa (Koopman) Haedicke. He married Jean Burdette on Sept. 19, 1947 having celebrated 65 years of marriage. She survives. Surviving are his children, Donald (Deb) Haedicke, James (Cathy) Haedicke, and Joy (Jack) Dries all of E. Peoria. Four Grandchildren: Elaine (Haedicke) Fisher and Gary (Erika) Haedicke, both of E. Peoria, Jennifer (Dries)(Brian) Wick of Milwaukee, WI., and Joe Dries of Pekin, 3 great grandchildren: Riley Fisher, Steven and Avery Dries. He is also survived by a brother, Gerald (Hildegard) Haedicke, and a sister Alice (Earl) Johnston, and a sister-in-law Nancy Haedicke all of E. Peoria. He was preceded in death by brothers, Adolph and Leroy Haedicke and a sister Thelma Durst. Retiring in 1987, he was a home builder, a life long farmer and a Self-employed owner of Haedicke Sand, Gravel and Excavating. His passion was coon hunting and keeping and training Walker Coon Dogs. He was a member of the Peoria Area Coon Hunters. Visitation for Uncle Bud will be from 11:00am until 1:00pm Saturday Feb. 2, 2013 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel. Graveside services will follow at Haedicke Family Cemetery in E. Peoria with Rev. Gary Salm officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Easter Seals Peoria Chapter.
