Arthur T. Gieseking

Arthur T. Gieseking age 97 of Metamora, Illinois passed away at 12:31pm Sat. March 10, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, IL. He was born March 12, 1914 in rural Low Point, IL., to William C. and Alice B. (Tunis) Gieseking. He married Mildred E. Marchand on Oct. 4, 1941 in Peoria and she survives. Surviving is one daughter Janice (James) Zilm of E. Peoria; Grandchildren Jason (Allisa) Zilm, Ryan Zilm, and Daniel (Jamie) Zilm; Two great grandchildren Blake, and Jayden and two step great grandchildren Drew and Chase. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Frank and Glenn and two sisters Cora Mae Hess and Pearl Shemas. Art was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of American Legion Post 89. Worked for Gieseking Brothers Saw Mill, Caterpillar and drove a milk route. He was a floor covering installer for Wiedmans Furniture Store and Glueck?s Supply. He was a wonderful and loving husband, dad, father-in-law, grandpa and great grandpa. He is well loved and greatly missed. He loved country music and was his daughter?s best friend. He is now with Jesus. A Funeral Mass will be at 1:30pm Wednesday March 14, 2012 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Metamora with Father Don Roszkowski officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5pm until 7pm at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with recitation of the rosary at 7pm. Burial will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery in Metamora.
